Often the best ideas come by getting stuck in and letting the creative juices flow. Through hands-on activities, event organisers can help teams and individuals playfully explore their creative side– while instilling a newfound trust and team spirit in the process.

The joys of handcrafts
For a literally hands-on experience, check out Tonhalle Dornbirn and Die Freidenkerin for inspiring pottery courses and workshops where participants can indulge their creative side in the softest way possible. Under expert supervision, you can design and create plates, mugs, bowls and figures. As the hands get busy, normal thought patterns go out the window and creativity flows – an inspiring and encouraging experience all round.
Strike while the iron’s hot, and take the chance of a memorable encounter with metalwork! At Steelsoul, teams can work towards a common goal: developing a joint project, such as their own barbecue – complete with cutlery and other equipment. In the heat of the forge, it’ll quickly become clear how important teamwork, communication and ideation are. Working together on a creative project, the whole becomes more than the sum of its parts.
Moving from metallurgy to woodwork: is there a better place to stimulate new ideas than out in nature? At a DIY Workshop in Bregenzerwald, there’s the chance to craft your own peppermills, clocks or even lamps – all out of pure wood. Merging creativity and knowledge, participants can learn something new and take something home with them – both metaphorically and physically.

Positive competition
Creating something with your own hands is a challenge in itself for 21st century humans. When combined with a competitive element, this becomes even more exciting – how about a race with a homemade raft or an award for the most original soapbox car? For the former, there are chances to do so both at Lake Constance and in Bregenzerwald, testing rafts on wild waters. If you prefer dry land, Seifenkisten Rallye offer teams the chance to build soapbox cars and compete against each other in a final race!

Culinary creations
Cooking is an underestimated artform and handcraft. And sometimes complex creations are easier than you think – such is the case when it comes to cheesemaking. At one of the region’s cheese workshops, participants quickly banish any everyday thoughts when concentrating solely on producing their own cheese. Or how about making your own tipple? At Verner’s Brautag you can try your hand at brewing your own beer, while at a gin workshop by eventaktiv, participants can learn about the various bouquets before distilling their own special gin.
