Coworking & Working Spaces

The finest office alternatives

Revier Mountain Lodge Montafon-Digital Nomade

Some find they’re at their most productive when away from their usual office environment. Thanks to the excellent infrastructure of modern hotels and coworking spaces, this is possible all over Vorarlberg. Between mountains, valley, and lake, there’s a plethora of cosy workspaces of all sizes available – whether you’re staying for days, weeks, or even just a few hours. Let’s take a closer look at this region’s innovative “workation” and coworking scene!

Seamlessly combining work and relaxation

The gap between work and free time is ever decreasing. And in the first four places on our list, this is no bad thing. These hotels are much more than places to sleep; they manage to create a productive and leisurely working atmosphere. Firmament, for example, has all the modern infrastructure you need for work, meetings, and calls – and all in a big-city ambience with tall ceilings inspiring blue-sky thinking, topped off with an excellent restaurant. Just as inspiring is Tempel 74 in Mellau, where you can either work from your own apartment or use the library on the first floor. This is great for those who work better with a bit of action, with only a pane of glass separating the library from the outside area. Further down the Rhine Valley is Revier Mountain Lodge in Montafon, a haven for those seeking to migrate their workspace to the mountains with various activities on the doorstep. Creativity and productivity are at the heart of this working space. The inter-connecting lounge, bar and café are spacious and open - this might be far from city life, but here you’re still close to the action. The "Jugend- und Bildungshaus" St. Arbogast offers two "temporary offices" with an inspiring view of the greenery, providing an ideal retreat for focused work. The pleasant working atmosphere is enhanced by the culinary offerings at Café Arbogast and the opportunity to enjoy the surrounding nature.

Places for kick-offs, intensive work and team workations

The best collective work and brainstorming is done when the setting is just right. At the following places, you can rent exclusive spaces on a daily or weekly basis to get your creative juices flowing and accelerate project progress. In the idyllic Laternsertal, the Seminar- und Ferienhaus Bergfrieden awaits. Between 8 and 26 people can use the rooms, including the wellness area. For bonding and active team breaks, the hiking and skiing area is just around the corner. Equally serene and remote is Ferien- und Seminarhaus Wald 12 which combines modern chic with a 400-year-old mountain farmhouse. This is a special place with rustic cellar vaults and an old tiled stove. Tradition meets innovation here, and 10 modern double rooms are available for overnight stays and meetings with all modern conveniences.

There’s something in the mountain air conducive to good co-creation. Berghaus Schröcken offers exclusive chalet apartments for up to 18 people. This includes private sauna, whirlpool, and all the services you’d expect from a resort complex.

For those looking for even more disconnection, you’ll find exactly that at Berghof Sonderdach, which is 1210 metres above Bezau and only reachable by cable-car and by foot. Up to 12 people can move in for this workation, cooking as a team in the well-equipped kitchen and relaxing in the steam sauna - or outside in the fresh air, of course.

The Walliserhof Hotel in Brand is not only in close proximity to the mountain cable car, but also to the local alpine golf course. After an intensive co-working session, you can hit the slopes directly in winter, while in summer you can enjoy the mountain scenery with a hike or relax with a round of golf. In the newly furnished co-working seminar room, you'll find everything you need: screens, printers, Post-its – everything has been thought of here.

The true meaning of coworking

Coworking spaces have sprung up worldwide in recent years, and this region is no different. They’re an excellent opportunity to find new inspiration, make contacts and make use of the perfect infrastructure. If you like the concept of café, bar, concept store and coworking in one, check out Jahnhalle in Feldkirch. The workfwd coworking is also located in Feldkirch, at the entrance to the city, and offers the opportunity to work outdoors on over 400 m². These locations are easily reachable from the entire region and fitted out for productivity. The same goes for Muut Offices, where you can get a block of 10 workdays and your own creative workspace – ideal if you’re in the region for an extended period or want to regularly break your working routine. Of equal attraction for such purposes is Dornbirn’s Gelbe Fabrik, where you can become part of its lively coworking scene and also get access to versatile meeting and seminar rooms. Last but not least is the well-renowned CAMPUS V Coworking, which can be rented on a daily or long-term basis.

Nearby there’s another space flooded with light to inspire good working sessions – the GlessHub in Lustenau with its inviting atmosphere, whether you’re staying for a day, a whole week, or even longer.

With all these spaces, you’ll be well equipped for inspiring working days with a difference!
