The Bregenzerwald wouldn’t be what it is today without the famous Wälderbähnle. The original steam engine still services a stretch of the line – a cosy journey through time, whatever your age. Although it is a museum trip, everything on the train is real and in working order. Nobody can resist the charm of the old Wälderbahn! You can even excuse the black plume of smoke that is emitted from time to time despite its emission values not complying with today’s standard.
